[Women's Cross Country] OLLU's Annie Trejo runs fastest time in OLLU history at nationals

Comments

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA (Nov. 16, 2018) – Andrea Gandara (SO/Kaufman, Texas) and Annie Trejo (JR/Park City, Utah) of Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) participated in the 63rd Annual NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championships that took place this morning. The event was held at Seminole Valley Cross Country Course in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Trejo came in 119th place in the women's 5-kilometer race that featured 339 runners with a time of 18:52.9. Gandara's time was 20:43.9.

Head Coach Stephen Sherman said, "I preached to our whole group all year long to not take anything for granted and to strive for November; that we would ultimately be judged based on our November results. That said, I am proud of the way this group we brought to the NAIA meet handled themselves. I can't say everyone from our group necessarily had their best race, but I can say with certainty all of them left all they had on this day out there."
