SAN ANTONIO (Sept. 1, 2015) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) women's cross-country team looks forward to improving its second-place Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) meet finish last year to a first place this season.

Head Coach Stephen Sherman said, "I had high expectations for the women last year, and my expectations are quite a bit higher this year. I believe our women are better this year.

"The Red River is as deep as it has ever been, so it's hard to single any particular team out as being our biggest competitor. The reality of it is that every conference team wants to beat us, and we want to beat them."

The Saints will host its first-ever OLLU Collegiate Invite on Sept. 12 at the Windcrest Golf Course in Windcrest, Texas. Participants will be announced at a later date. "It's exciting to be hosting an invitational for the first time. It will be good for everyone involved. Hosting a meet is akin to selling a product, and we sincerely hope that all of the teams attending will find the meet a quality product."

OLLU will also host its second conference meet on Nov. 6 also at Windcrest and sponsored by Drury Inn. The Saints hosted the 2012 Red River meet. Participating along with OLLU are Wiley College, Langston University, University of the Southwest, Huston-Tillotson University, Jarvis Christian College and Louisiana State University-Shreveport.  Xavier University, Dillard University and Talladega College from the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference also will participate. "We are fortunate to have the backing of the Windcrest Golf Club and the City of Windcrest. We are looking forward to making it even better this time around. The conference has evolved nicely over the past few years, and I think this meet with be quite a bit of fun."
